Résumé

Academic training 

I have a degree in English language and literature from the University of Castilla-La Mancha, which I obtained with honors. My studies took place from 2000 to 2005 and included, among other things, courses in English-Spanish contrastive analysis, English for law, English for engineering, English for tourism, French, German and librarianship. I also have Cambridge's Certificate of Proficiency in English (C2) and the official DALF C1 advanced French title. I intend to take an official German language exam shortly to obtain a certificate.

My knowledge of translation is a combination of what I learned during my studies and the experience gained in recent years.

I think that, as any self-respecting translator :-), I am a person very interested in the world around him/her and concerned about the correct use of his/her own mother tongue. In addition, I am currently studying a vocational training course on web applications development, as I like programming and it can give me technical knowledge useful for my translation work.

Professional experience

In the field of translation, I worked as a freelance translator in 2011, when I translated several kinds of texts (institutional and technical) for two translation agencies. After that, I have sometimes cooperated with another translation agency, mainly with documents related to the United Nations, which I am quite familiar with.

Besides, I worked as advisor of the University of Castilla-La Mancha's program of Spanish language courses for foreign students in Toledo from October 2006 to November 2013. My job was essentially administrative, but it also included some occasional translations.
